Why Am I Seeing the MINI Cooper Tire Pressure Light?

After you pick out a new set of tires, maintaining the proper MINI Cooper tire pressure is essential. Why? Your tires are designed to perform at their peak at a specific tire pressure range. That means greater traction, acceleration, and even fuel economy. When your MINI Cooper tire pressure is under or over the recommended guidelines, you’ll see a warning from the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Be sure to check your tire pressure monthly to make sure everything is normal, and if you have a broken tire pressure sensor, stop by the service center at Lauderdale MINI for assistance.

When Do I Need New MINI Cooper Tires?

Maintaining the proper MINI Cooper tire pressure is important, but your tread level is also essential for great performance in Coconut Creek. You can check your tread level with a ruler or a tire tread depth gauge, but you can even use a penny! Just flip the penny upside down with the top of Lincoln’s head pointing toward the ground. Insert the penny into the treads at multiple spots. If Lincoln’s head is covered, you have at least 2/32 of an inch of tread depth. If his head is completely exposed, it’s time for a replacement set! Other signs to look for include:

  • Cracked sidewalls
  • Blisters on the tire’s surface
  • Shaking even on smooth driving surfaces
  • Uneven tire wear
