MINI Cooper Service

Car battery issues can be incredibly stressful. You may get stranded on the side of the road in Miami waiting for assistance with a jump-start. You may also have been running late in Hollywood as your vehicle struggles to start. If you’ve experienced these common MINI car battery problems, you’re not alone. Fortunately, regular MINI car battery maintenance can keep your battery performing at its best. Learn how to maintain a car battery and more in the guide below from Lauderdale MINI

Common MINI Battery Problems

  • A Slow Start – Does your vehicle struggle to start in your Coconut Creek garage? You may be dealing with a failing battery. Keep in mind that it’s not only the battery that can cause this issue. A faulty alternator may also be the cause. To help determine whether it’s the battery and not the alternator, be on the lookout for these warning signs: The car is difficult to start when temperatures get colder, the car doesn’t make any sounds and the lights in the cabin won’t go on, or your vehicle runs after receiving a jump-start.
  • Frequent Jump-Starts – When your battery can not adequately hold a charge, you will likely need to have the vehicle jump-started frequently. If this is the case, it’s time for a new battery.
  • Corrosion is Present – Battery performance can also be compromised when corrosion is present. Clean off the battery, then take a look at it to see if it’s leaking anywhere. If it is, have it replaced.
  • The Battery Fluid Level is Low – The battery fluid in your vehicle is a mixture of distilled water and sulfuric acid. The purpose of this fluid is to create electricity to keep your battery running smoothly. What are the signs of low battery fluid? You may experience headlights that dim or flicker or an engine that struggles to turn over. Topping off the battery fluid should help.
  • The Battery is Old – Car batteries tend to wear down at around the five-year mark. If your battery has hit that age and is experiencing issues, we recommend replacing it.
